the Artist
New York based assemblagist and collagist Renée Lewis trained at the Stella Elkins School of the Arts at Temple University and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), subsequently earning her BA and MFA from NYU. A member of two cooperative galleries in Soho, Lewis then took a hiatus of 30 years, during which time she worked for Sotheby’s International, managed a folk art gallery in Manhattan, and helmed her own interior design firm. She returned to her chosen medium of communication, assemblage and collage, in 2016.
